Seed Swap and Talk

7-9pm at the Greensboro Library (upstairs)

Join the Swap Sisters for the 4th annual seed swap.  This year we will not only swap seeds but also have a guest speaker, Penelope Newcomb from the Egg Farm in East Charleston.  Penelope has been saving seeds for 40 years.  She will share some "how to" information about growing your own seeds and discuss some of the politics around seed saving.  Come share seeds and information and take another step towards community food security.  Seeds will also be swapped at the Hardwick Community Dinner on February 9.  For more information email swapsisters@gmail.com or call 755-6336

Everyone is welcome to St. J ALFA's 2nd Annual Local Food Forum! Join us for an evening of eating, networking, discussion, and planning around local food issues.

From 5:00 to 6:00, indulge in a local food feast while you browse exhibits by Green Mountain Farm to School/Farm Direct, UVM Extension, Farm to Plate, NOFA, Fit & Healthy Coalition, St. J ALFA, St. J Food Co-op, St. J Farm to School, Caledonia Farmer's Market, Center for an Agricultural Economy, UVM Center for Sustainable Agriculture, and more!

At 6:00 we will have presentations on the St. J Community Farm, farm-to-institution connections, the ALFA online farmers' market, local food education, and a regional/statewide perspective, then break into smaller groups for brainstorming and planning.

Over 80 people attended the first Local Food Forum last February, despite a snowstorm. We hope you can come and help make this one just as successful!
